Temple Windle

Silent in Death.
At one o'clock this morning passed away from this earth to that happy home beyond, one of Valparaiso's most worthy and respected citizens, Mr. Temple Windle, aged 61 years, who has been a resident of the Vale for 32 years and has been an active business man, loved, honored and respected by all that knew him in social and business circles.

On New Year day Mr. Windle felt the first effects of the disease that caused his death -- a carbuncle on his neck, which gave him no uneasiness except the pain inflicted by such a troublesome visitor. A week ago to-day he was confined to his bed, but no serious danger was apprehended, and his relatives and friends thought he would soon be out again mingling with those he had met so often. But that dreadful disease, blood poison, took possession of his stalwart frame, and now all that is left for friends to view is the earthly tenement of clay silent in the still embrace of death, while the soul has sought its maker in the far beyond, to meet at the last day his own and beloved ones that mourn his departure, with all his kin and kindred.

Among those who will follow him to his last resting place on earth are his beloved wife, his son, W. G. Windle, and his dauther, Mrs. Mary Crosby, and numerous friends who will pay their last respects to the honored dead. Up to the time of going to press arrangements for the funeral had not been completed, but the burial will probably take place on Sunday, January 18. Requiescar in pace.
