Hattie Wilcox

Little Hattie Wilcox, whose sudden death on Thursday, of lung fever, was briefly noted in these columns yesterday, was an exceedingly bright and charming child who attracted more than ordinary attention from all observing people. Though but a day over thirteen months old, she had already gained quite an extensive acquaintance and by her happy ways had won the affectionate interest of a real circle of adult friends outside of her relationship, to whom she seemed nearly as a child of their own and to whom her demise is a sad bereavement, exceeded only by the terrible affliction, to which nothing else can bear comparison, of the fond parents upon the death of their loving child. Such is life. With the grief-stricken family the condolence of a sympathizing community abides. The funeral will be conducted by Rev. G. M. Boyd of the M. E. church, their pastor Rev. R. Beer of the Presbyterian church being absent from town. Service at the house at 3 o'clock p. m., after which the remains will be conducted to the new cemetery.
