John Wheeler

DIED.
At his residence near this city, on the 5th inst., John Wheeler, aged about 60 years.

The deceased was born in Montgomery county, Massachusetts, March 26th, 1816. About 1833 he emigrated with his family to Ohio; thence about 1840 to Missouri; and thence in 1844 to this county, where he has since resided. About 22 years ago he was married to Miss Mary Collins, who died in 1863 the mother of five children; three of whom are living. In 1865 he was married to Mrs. Emily Hayes by whom he had four children, who now survive, and with their mother mourn his death, which took place at his residence at 25 minutes past 11 last Sunday night, after a year's decline, and two or three months of severe sickness from consumption of the bowels.

Mr. Wheeler was a good man in all the relations of life, and highly esteemed by all who knew him, though he made no profession of religious faith or experience. His funeral was conducted by Rev. Mr. Meredith at the M. E. church of this place, at 11 o'clock on Tuesday.
