Hod Webber

Died On His Engine.
The report comes from South Bend that Hod Webber, one of the oldest engineers on the Lake Shore road, was stricken last Tuesday on his engine at South Bend, and died before his train reached Elkhart, where he lived. Mr. Webber was in charge of the engine hauling train No. 176 due here at 7:06 p. m. The engine took water here that evening and Mr. Webber was apparently in good health then. His hand was on the lever when stricken so that it may be truly said he died at his post of duty.
