Coroner's Inquest Report.
State of Indiana,
Porter County, } SS.

BE IT REMEMBERED, That on the 28th day of March, 1880, information was given to me that the dead body of a male child lay in Center township, in said state and county, supposed to have to his death by violence or casualty, and to ascertain, so far as possible, the cause and circumstances of said death, witnesses were called and sworn, and their material evidence reduced to writing, signed by me and filed in the Clerk's office of said county; whereupon I find that the decedent's name was unknown, that he was a seven-month fetus, and that he came to his death by being drowned in the pond commonly known as Campbell's pond, if not killed before. The person was committed to the charge of the township trustee for burial.
Coroner of Porter county.
