Man Found Dead. -- On yesterday evening the body of a dead man was found lying under a shade tree, by the road-side, on or near the premises of Mr. John Shinabarger, in Washington township. The name of the deceased is unknown, and he is supposed to have "came to his death by the improper use of opium." The particulars will be ascertained from the verdict of the Coroner's Jury, which is as follows:

State of Indiana, County of Porter, Washington Township, Aug. 13th, 1855.

We, the jury of inquest, being duly sworn, and having viewed the body of the deceased, lying dead in the said Township, on the premises of John Shinabarger, suppose that he came to his death by the improper use of opium, a small quantity of which was found in his pocket. He is supposed to have died on the night of the 11th of said month, and to be between fifty and sixty years of age, and found lying by the road-side under a shade tree, dressed as follows:

Hickory shirt, brown cloth vest, grey satinett coat, grey satinett pants, new kip boots, and coarse leghorn hat. Had in possession a black sachel, marked 10 shil., one black vest, marked 18 shil.; one linen- bosomed shirt, marked 12 shil.; one new pair of red plaid jeans pants, marked $2.50; one black silk cravat, marked 12 shil.; one new hickory shirt, marked 5 shil.; one new pair of woolen socks, 41 cents; one old pair of cotton pants; one old cotton shirt; one pocket knife, 41 cents; one cotton handkerchief, twenty five cents; and one red silk purse containing twenty-one dollars and sixty cents, in coin.

From the best information we could obtain, the deceased was seen in Westville by Mr. Russell Cohoon, on Saturday the 11th, and said his destination was Valparaiso. Elmer Shinabarger and Allen Butler being duly sworn, state that they had seen the deceased, on Saturday the 11th, lying in the same position as when found on Sunday the 12th, by the same, and ascertained to be dead; and they also state that the body lay in the same state when the Jury examined it as when found by them.
