Hannah Tratebas

TALK OF THE TOWN
Death removed from this life last Monday one of the early pioneers of this county in the person of Mrs. Tratebas. She was sick but a few days, and died at the home of her son, John Tratebas, at Gossettsburgh, aged 78 years. The funeral was held Tuesday, services being held at the Chesterton M. E. church by Rev. Jesse, and the remains interred in the Chesterton cemetery. Deceased made her home for many years on the farm now owned by C. A. Anderson, and got it directly from the government. She leaves a large family of grown up children and grand children to mourn her death.

Hannah Thomas was born Nov. 4th, 1815, died July 30th, 1893. Was married to Edmond Tratebas April, 1834, six children were born to them, four are left to mourn her loss. She was the grandmother of 17 grandchildren and great-grandmother to 21.
