Traeger

WHEELER NEWS
John E. Traeger, of Chicago, sheriff of Cook county, attended the funeral of his sister-in-law in Hobart, Tuesday. In conversation he casually mentioned the fact that he has the late pastor of the Wheeler church, J. Paris Cox, in the Cook county jail. If the charges as given in Chicago newspapers are shown in court to be true, and under which he is arrested, J. Paris stands a good chance of sojourning for a space in the Joliet penitentiary. He will be given the opportunity to vindicate himself, if he can. People here are wondering whether any diamond rings will be sent back to him from this locality to build up his defense fund.
