Nancy Thomas

DEATHS
The remains of Mrs. Nancy Armstrong, who died in Westport, S. D., on Feb. 11, were borught to Chesterton for burial last Sunday afternoon. During the blizzard in January a brick was blown off and fell down the chimney of the house stopping it up so that during the night the room filled with gas from a coal stove, and when she was discovered in the morning by her son, with whom she was living, she was unconscious. Medical aid was summoned but she was beyond human help. After lingering between life and death for a month the fumes of the deadly gas that had entered her lungs did its work and the grim reaper gathered her in. Mrs. Armstrong was formerly a Miss Thomas and was well known as she lived her many years. About 15 years ago she moved to Westport, S. D., with her son and lived there until her death. The deceased was 86 years old. Funeral was held Monday afternoon at the M. E. church and was attended by a large concourse of relatives and friends. The remains were laid to rest in the Chesterton cemetery.
