William Thatcher

Death of an old Settler.
William Thatcher died yesterday afternoon at his residence, or atrophy, after a painful illness of 6 weeks, in the 87th year of his age. He was born in Kentucky March 16, 1799, moved to Ohio in 1835, then moved to Clinton county, Ind., and came to Porter county in 1852, where he lived ever since. He leaves five children and a widow his 3d wife surviving him. Shortly before his death he made complete arrangements for his funeral, requesting that he be buried in a plain coffin and without any ostentation. The funeral will take place from the Baptist church to morrow afternoon Rev. L. N. Norton of Logansport officiating.
