Coroner's Inquest Report.
State of Indiana,
Porter County.
BE IT REMEMBERED, That on the 20th day of January, 1879, information was given to me that the dead body of a man was found in Union township, in said state and county, supposed to have come to his death by violence, or casualty, and I thereupon caused a jury to be summoned, sworn and charged to ascertain so far as possible the cause and circumstances of said death. Witnesses accordingly were called and sworn and their material evidence reduced to writing, signed by both said jury and myself and filed in the clerk's office of said county; whereupon said jury made their verdict that decedent's name was Christian Summers, that he was about 66 years old and that he died of congestion of the lungs. His person was committed to the charge of his family in whose possession it was found, for burial.
