LOCAL.
A child of Mr. Smith, the great walker of the Hippodrome, died at the City Hotel Monday afternoon during the show here that day. Mr. Smith performed his feat as usual, not learning of his child's death till the afternoon performance was over. The child was buried here on Tuesday morning, but is to be removed next fall and buried near its parents' residence.
