John Shultz

Valparaiso.
John Shultz, one of the first residents of Porter county, died quite suddenly Tuesday evening at 7:30 o'clock at his home on Morgan Prairie. He had been in poor health for the past year, having suffered a stroke of paralysis last spring. The deceased was in his 83rd year. He was a native of Washington county, this state, and came to this county in 1836, and settled in Morgan township. He was twice married; both wives are dead. He leaves five children, Augustus Shultz, Mrs. Jerry Covert, Mrs. Napoleon Baum, Mrs. Alvin Gay, and Cyrus Shultz.
