Joseph Poole

CHESTERTON CHIPS
Joseph Poole, for many years roadmaster on the Lake Shore road from Elkhart to Chicago, died at his home in Laporte Monday, after a long and painful illness. The funeral was held Wednesday, and was one of the largest ever held in Laporte. All the section men employed on the road at this place, attended the funeral, as well as a delegation from the Calumet Lodge, A. F. &. A. M. The remains were buried with Masonic honors, and the services were very impressive. Joe Poole was one of the best liked men on the Elkhart division of the Lake Shore road, and his death is generally mourned. He was good to those under him, and by them he will be most missed.
