Olson, Obituary/Death NoticePorter County obituaries and death notices . . . .

Our more fortunate townsmen who are now rusticating in New Orleans inhaling the delicious perfumes of the orange groves are to be envied. Those who went before the storm will find it difficult to realize its severity here. It will be hard to believe that it was impossible to bury the dead, on account of the terrible snow-drifts, and yet such was the case. Mr. Olson of Hageman lost a child with dyphtheria last Friday, and at this writing, (Tuesday) he could not get to the burying ground to bury it. In fact he could not get to Chesterton to get a coffin until Monday, and then froze both sides of his face in doing it.
