The body an an unknown man was discovered Friday afternoon in a row boat floating in the water at Cedar Lake, Near Lowell. The man had a bullet hole in his temple. A revolver was found near him in the boat. The man was well dressed, but there's nothing on his body to reveal his identity.

The Cedar Lake Mystery
The dead body of a young man found in a boat floating in Cedar lake, Lake county, has been identified as Ralph Nichols, of Creston. He spent last week in Chicago, coming home on Friday. He had been crossed in love, and killed himself to end it. He was 23 years old and the son of a prominent farmer in Lake county. -- Ex
