Joseph McFarland

THE COUNTY.
HEBRON.
Another of the early settlers is gone! Joseph McFarland, at Hickory Point, died the first of last week. He came to Hickory Point in the fall of 1846 with his family and two brothers. He was highly respected by all who knew him, and I think lived nearest to the golden rule of any man I ever knew. He was for many years a member of the Covenanter church and was a true Christian. He leaves a wife, 3 daughters and several grand-children, two sons-in-law and one daughter-in-law, with a large circle of friends to mourn their loss. Deceased was about 70 years of age. He made a will dividing his estate as equally as possible among his heirs. By diligence and economy he had acquired a good property.
