Ruth Anna Marshall

DIED -- In Valparaiso, on Sabbath evening, Nov. 18th, 1855, Ruth Anna, youngest daughter of Elithan and Elizabeth Marshall, in the 10th year of her age.

Thus in less than two short months have these stricken ones been called to mourn the loss of two beloved children. First, the oldest in the pride of manhood, and now the youngest -- the little cherished one has been snatched from their embrace, as it were, in a moment. But young as this dear child was, she has left behind the sweet evidence that she was a lamb of the Savior's flock. Let us not sorrow, even as others who have no hope, but bow in meek submission to the will that has taken another bud of promise from this cold and dreary clime, and, --

Borne it to those everlasting gardens
Where angels walk, and seraphs are the wardens,
Where every flower brought through death dark portal
Becomes immortal.
