Ed Lind

Killed By the Cars.
Hobart Gazette: Ed. Lind, a Swede, was killed at Wheeler Tuesday evening at 9 o'clock by 2d section of No. 42 on the Nickle plate railroad. He was lying on the track and the train men did not see him until it was too late. The body was horribly mangled and was taken to Valpo by coroner Coates. Lind was a section hand 50 years old, without a family and had no friends in this country of whom any one knows. It is reported that he had some property near Chesterton. He was addicted to the use of liquor and had been on a general spree in Hobart Monday and Tuesday. Without a doubt he was full and walked to Wheeler, where he laid down upon the track to sleep.
