HEBRON LOCAL ITEMS.
-- Died. -- Ella Kithcart, on Thursday August 21st, at 5 o'clock p. m., aged 19 years. Deceased was the daughter of Joseph Kithcart, who lives one mile east of town. For more than a year prior to her death, Ella's health was such as to give her relatives and friends much anxiety. As time rolled on, the dread disease, consumption, was plainly marked by her system rapidly wasting away. Calmly the departed received the sad news from her physicians, about three months ago, that she must die. But during the past three months of awful waiting, Ella was still the center of attraction among her young friends. She still cheered them on in the happy way of youthful life until the last. There was, towards the last few weeks of her life a constant dread on her mind to spend very much of her time lying down, for fear that she would never be able to be up and around the house again. Some time before her death, a birth-day party was held in her honor by her many friends at her home. She told them all it was the last time that her birthday would be so remembered. The last day finally came. In the morning Ella informed her mother that she was prepared to die. She took breakfast and dinner at the table with the family, eating quite heartily, especially at dinner. The passing hours began to tell her bitter story. The dying girl called loved ones to her bed-side, and bade them the last farewell. Toward the last she suffered much pain, but in her last moments she said to her mother, "Is this dying?" Ella spoke no more. The funeral ceremonies were held at the Christian church, of which Ella had been a member for some time, on Friday, at 8 o'clock, p. m. Her remains were interred in the cemetery of this place. The bereaved friends have the sympathy of all, and by the death of Ella our community has lost one of its most worthy young ladies.
