Charles William Keeler

DIED,
At the residence of his parents, in this county, July 29, CHARLES WM., son of Henry and Eliza Keeler, aged 7 months.

LINES.
Published by request of a friend of the afflicted parents.

Sweet babe, adieu! thou'rt gone to rest,
And left this world behind,
Forever -- ever to be blest,
To Jesus' arms resigned.

Ere sin could blight or sorrow fade,
Death came with friendly care;
The op'ning bud to heav'n conveyed,
And bade its blossom there.

Surrounded therewith beauties grand,
'Twill be a glorious sight,
To see him sit at God's right hand,
All decked in robes of white.

Thy life, though short, was long enough
In such a world as this;
The path with cares and thorns is rough,
That leads to future bliss.

When Christ shall come to judge the world,
In righteousness divine,
Thousands will wish their time on earth
Had been as short as thine.

The bud was plucked ere it could bloom,
And from the mother riven,
But soon she'll follow to the tomb,
And meet her child in heaven.
