Annie Johnston

On last Friday Mrs. Margaret Johnston received a telegram from Hart, Mich., announcing the death of her beloved daughter, Mrs. Annie Latin who resided at her late home near that place; so Mrs. Johnston, accompanied by her son, Robert, of Furnessville, left on the evening train to attend the funeral, and arriving just before the services began. Mrs. Latin, at the time of her death, was visiting friends, who were living about seven miles from her home. She had said good-bye, and turning to leave, fell at their feet a corpse. The physicians pronounced the cause of her death to be dropsy of the heart. She leaves a husband and six children to mourn her loss, three of whom however, step-children. Mrs. Latin is quite well known in Chesterton, having visited here a number of times. Considering that this is the fifth announcement of this character to Mrs. Johnston within the past six weeks, the shock to her is doubly hard and in consequence of her advanced years and poor health, may result seriously to herself.
