Abram Hicks
Obituary.
Abram Hicks was born in Duchess county, New York, September 12, 1797, where he reamined until he had raised a family of three daughters and two sons. He was married to Miss Jane Thompson of Duchess county, N. Y., April 3, 1820. About forty years since he removed with his family to Michigan, and about five years afterward he moved to this county and settled on a farm. For thirty years he was a resident of this city and a member of the Methodist Episcopal church. For the last nearly three years he was confined to his house under the infirmities of old age, but he patiently suffered the divine will and when death came to release him he was ready and died in peace.
