OBITUARIES.
HAYDEN.
Caleb Hayden was born in Madison county, New York, January 1st, 1807, and died in Porter county, Indiana, February 27th, 1883, at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. Frederick Tilley, on Morgan Prairie, aged 76 years, 1 month and 27 days. In 1827 he united with the Methodist Episcopal Church, in Springfield, Mass., in which he lived until within the last few years, when it became inconvenient for him to attend the church of his choice on account of ill-health, and he united with the Christian church, near his residence. Mr. H. came to Indiana and settled in Laporte county in 1835. In 1853 he came to Porter county and settled on Morgan Prairie. He was the father of six children, two of whom, with his wife, preceded him to the other land, leaving the other four to mourn their loss. His funeral was preached on the 1st inst., at the brick chapel in the Adams neighborhood, by Rev. G. M. Boyd, of this city, to a large attendance of his neighbors.
