Bert Harris

DEATHS
HARRIS: -- On Sunday, April 19, Bert Harris, of heart troubles, aged 26 years. He was taken ill last Thursday, services being conducted at the house, and the remains interred in the Chesterton cemetery. Deceased was the only son of the late John Harris, ex-deputy sheriff of Porter county, under Henry Binnamon, and leaves a widowed mother to mourn his untimely demise. He was a bright young man, of good habits, and universally respected.

The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Updike, of Valparaiso, at the house. The funeral was attended by the various societies of which he was a member, and nearly all of our citizens. Much sympathy is felt for the bereaved mother, as Bert was her only child, and now she is left entirely alone.
