Laura H. Hammond

PORTER POINTERS
Miss Laura H. Hammond died at Valparaiso on Friday, March 18, of nervous prostration and rheumatism, aged 44 years. Until a week before her death she had been able to be around, but has been ill for some time. The funeral services were held at the residence of Mr. Perrine at Valparaiso last Sunday, the sermon being preached by Rev. J. B. Fleming. The remains were brought to Chesterton Sunday, and on Monday were taken to Decatur, Mich., for burial, being accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Lundberg. Deceased is a sister of Mrs. Lundberg, and has been a resident of Chesterton and Valparaiso for the past twenty-five years, coming here from Van Buren county, Mich.
