Mrs. M. A. Garis

The Burial of Mrs. Garis.
On Friday we announced the death at Shelbyville, Ill., on the day before of Mrs. M. A. Garis, sister of the editor and formerly a resident of this place, adding that she was to be brought here for burial beside her husband, but we were not informed about the day or hour.

On Friday evening, Rio, oldest son, of Elgin, Ill., and Joseph, youngest son, of Turner-junction, Ill., arrived, they having both been notified by telegram to come here for their mother's burial. On Saturday a. m. the Pittsburg train bro't the other children, Josephine, Reu and Minnie, with the body of their mother. At the depot they were met by relatives, conveyances and undertaker with his hearse, and the procession went directly to the grave, where, after an exposure of the corpse to last view of the family and friends and after brief remarks and prayers by Elder Riley, the body was committed to the earth.

The children all remained here over Sunday visiting with friends, and left at 7:10 this morning for their homes.
