Mary Fleming

OBITUARY.
Mary Fleming was born in Virginia, November 2d, 1803. When quite young she removed with her parents to Jefferson county, Ohio. In December, 1829, she was married to Peter Hesser, and in 1852 she removed with her husband to Porter county, Ind., where she resided until her death which took place at the residence of her son-in-law, Mr. Curtis, on the 10th inst. The deceased had been an honored member of the M. E. church about 40 years, a highly respected citizen in the community in which she lived, and a devoted wife and mother. Her husband departed this life but a little over one year ago. She leaved seven children, three sons and four daughters, to mourn their loss. Her funeral services took place at the residence of Mr. Curtis, on the 12th inst. Elder Riley, of Valparaiso, preached the sermon to a large company of relatives, friends, and neighbors, after which the remains were buried in the Fleming burying ground by the side of her husband.

Dearest mother thou hast left us
For thy long sought home on high,
Of thee God has now bereft us,
But we'll meet thee by and by.

Hushed is the dear loving voice
Closed too is that love-lit eye;
Gone from us is thy loved soul --
Gone to its home on high.

Fold thy pale hands softly
Ore the quiet breast,
Her labors of loved are ended
Gently let her rest.

Rest in heaven above,
Rest on the beautiful shore,
Rest where all is love,
Rest with christ evermore.

MRS. FANNIE COULTER.
