Sarah E. Fish

For the Observer.
Lines to the Memory of Miss Sarah E. Fish,
Who died of Cholera in Buffalo, N. Y., on the 13th of August, 1852.
BY ZELORE EGBERT.

O Sarah, thouh wert well beloved,
Wert gentle, good and fair;
But our kind father took thee home,
To dwell where angles are.

No tear shall fall upon thy cheek,
Or sigh escape thy breast;
For Christ -- the Lord -- hath called thee home,
To thine eternal rest.

Farewell, dear Sarah, -- thou art gone;
We'll miss thee here below;
But when our dissolution comes,
We'll dwell with angels too.

Dear cousin -- though thou'rt gone before,
Perhaps thou'lt hover near,
And when our hour of death has come,
Thou'lt whisper, "do not fear!"

And then on angel wings thou'lt bear
Our souls to Paradise.
And when we gain admittance there,
We'll dwell with thee in Christ.

O cousin, thou wert well beloved,
Wert gentle, good and fair,
But our dear Father called thee hence,
To dwell where angels are.
