Omega Fairchild

OBITUARY.
Omega Fairchild, son of Nathan S. and Jane Fairchild, was born December 7th, 1856, Porter county, Ind., and died in August 1875. He was injured by the fall of a tree in moving a house, and after lingering some months left us in the blissful hope of immortality. Omega was a good boy; was received into the Christian church by Brother Lowe, who preached his funeral from Thess., iv, 13, 14, to a large congregation of friends and brethren. He bore his long affliction with uncommon patience for one so young. The brethren met him in the holy communion the Lord's day before his death. Soon after, on the 22d of August 1875, he fell asleep in Jesus.

"Asleep in Jesus, oh, how sweet
To be for such a slumber meet!
With holy confidence to sing
That death has lost its venomed sting."

"Remember friends as you pass by
As you are now so once was I;
As I am now so you must be,
Prepare for death and follow me."

L. SHORTRIDGE.
