John Dutton

Report of Coroner's Inquest.

BE IT REMEMBERED THAT ON THE ELEVENTH day of November, 1880, a man lay in Pleasant township, in said state and county, supposed to have come to his death by violence or casualty, and to ascertain so far as possible the cause and circumstances of said death, witnesses were called and sworn, and their material evidence reduced to writing, signed by myself, and filed in the clerk's office of said county. Whereupon, I find decedent's name was John Dutton, that he was fifty-nine years old, of light complexion, five feet six inches high, heavy built, dressed in common working clothes, and that he came to his death by a gun-shot wounds at the hands of Joseph Taft. The body of his person was committed to the charge of his family.
Coroner of Porter County.
