J. A. G.W. Dilley

[Communicated.]
Died -- On the 19th instant, at the Jackson House, Crown Point, Lake county, J. A. G. W. DILLEY, of lung fever, after an illness of seven days, aged 48 years. It the possessor of many rare and noble qualities of heart, deserves more than a mere passing notice, our departed friend was that man.

For fifteen years a resident of this county, by a course of industry he had acquired a competency, and had pictured to himself a life of less toil and care, but the pale curtain of Death has hidden the scene too early from his eyes.

Upright and prompt in all his dealings, Mr. Dilley won the confidence of all who knew him; constant intercourse with the world had not deadened his sensibilities, and there are those living who would be willing witnesses to his generosity, and those dead who might speak if they could in that behalf. But he has gone where witnesses are never summoned, and sadly, we bid him a long good night. Mr. Dilley was a native of Ohio, and a son of Gen. Lewis Dilley of Mentor.

He has died far away from the valley where he was born, but Heaven bends lovingly everywhere; he is not without a solicitor there, neither will his memory be uncherished below.
