Mrs. Dempsey, who died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. McCarthy, at Kouts, mention of which is made in our Kouts items, was a former resident of Chesterton, having been one of the early settlers of this place, and lived here along in the "fifties." She was about 90 years old, and died from the ailments of old age.
