Michael Corey

LOCAL.
We learn from Chesterton that on Thursday evening last as Mr. Michael Corey and his son, who lived south-east of that place, were riding home from Michigan City and on the way from Furnessville to Fuller's place, while driving rather fast and over rough new road, the wagon tongue slipped out by some means from the neck-yoke, fell, and ran into the ground, which overturned the wagon on the father, fastening his body under it between its parts so tightly that the son tried vainly to release him, and before he could get help to extricate his father he was dead. His funeral was on last Sunday at the Catholic church in Chesterton, of which he was a member.
