Ellen Connerty

DIED.
WALSH. -- At her residence in Valparaiso, on Monday, Aug. 6, 1881, of consumption, Mrs. Ellen Walsh, daughter of Thomas and Mary Connerty.

The deceased was a native of Porter county, being born and raised on Horse Prairie, where she resided up to the time of her marriage in 1874, after which she removed with her husband, Mr. Patrick Walsh, to Chicago. There she remained till four months previous to her death, at which time she returned to Valparaiso. The high esteem in which this lady was held by her friends and neighbors was characteristic of her noble qualities and womanly virtues. She was a kind and exeplary neighbor, a devoted and christian mother, and a true and affectionate wife. Mrs. Walsh was not only admired and respected by those akin to her, but by all who knew her, which was evident by the respect and attention tendered during her illness. She leaves a husband, one child, and parents, besides a large circle of friends and relatives to mourn her departure. The funeral service was held at St. Paul's church on Sunday, Aug. 7, and a very expressive and sympathetic sermon was preached by Father O'Reilly, after which the body was removed to the Catholic cemetery, followed by a large concourse of friends and relatives.
