Alfred T. Cole

Alfred T., son of Russell and Katie G. Cole, died of membraneous croup on Friday, Aug. 27, at the residence of Thomas Draper, in Valparaiso, and was buried from the same place on Saturday at four o'clock, the funeral services being conducted by Elder E. S. Riley, pastor of the Baptist church. Alfred was a promising boy, and in his last sickness was a great sufferer. But before his death he gave proof in his trust in and love for the saviour of sinners, and was ready for the divine appointment, death. His life, though short -- only 7 years -- was not in vain. In his death there is life; and may it prove to be so not only to himself, but also to his parents, who are called to mourn his loss.
