Augusta C. Choate

DIED.
CHOATE. -- At the residence of her father, in Valparaiso, Saturday evening, July 7, 1877, Miss Augusta C. Choate, of pulmonary consumption.

Miss Choate was born at Enfield, New Hampshire, June 3, 1836. She graduated at Kimbell Union Academy, Meridian, N. H., in the class of 1858. She came west about sixteen years ago, and soon afterwards made her home with her father and sister in Valparaiso. She united with the Congregational Church at Enfield in 1860, and with the Presbyterian Church of Valparaiso in 1868. She was for several years engaged in teaching, and until the failure of her health prevented that sort of occupation. Her illness was of several years standing and during the latter part of it was painful. Through it all she bore herself with quiet resignation, never murmuring at her lot. She had a good hope to sustain her, and finally passed away from earth in the full expectation of life eternal. Her end was peace.
