CASS. -- At his residence in Porter Township, on Sunday evening, Nov. 5th, 1882, Mr. Levi A. Cass, aged 63 years.
Mr. Cass came to this county in 1840 and settled down in Porter township where he has since resided. He was a man widely known and esteemed for his good qualities. His death which occurred Sunday even at about half-past nine o'clock was attended by no previous sickness. He had been as well as usual all that dya and had taken quite a long drive through the country. He returned home at 5 o'clock ate his supper, smoked and read the newspaper and talked on the political prospect with some neighbors who had dropped in to spend the evening. A short time after going to bed he was taken with an apoplectic fit and ten minutes was dead. His funeral took place Tuesday from Salem church and was attended by a large concourse of friends and relatives.
