Cashie Campbell

OBITUARIES.
MRS. WALTER CAMPBELL, NEE CASHIE ABEL.
Week before last word came here from Rows, Ohio, Mr. Walter Campbell's residence, that owing to the illness of his wife they wanted Mrs. Eva Coe, a relative and friend here, to come there and help them, and she went the first of last week. On last Friday night word came by telegram that Cashie was quite sick and wished her mother to come to her on the first train, which she did with but an hour or two of notice. Sunday evening came another telegram at 6 o'clock that Cash was dying, and at 8 that night her father, Lyman Able, and her sister, Mrs. Gogan, and the latter's daughter, Dora, left here for the Campbell residence. On Tuesday morning came a final telegram that Cashie died at 12 o'clock on Monday night, and Maggie Skelly, a familiar friend and inmate of the Able family, left Tuesday evening to attend the funeral, which was to be at 2 p. m. Wednesday. The telegram that she was dying somehow started the report here Monday that she was already dead, and so it was made public in the daily paper but was not then true. Acquaintances and friends here learning of her death were confident that the remains would be brought back here for burial beside her sister Effie, who so lately died, the first affiance of this Mr. Campbell, and this was the purpose Mr. Able had when he left here, but seems not to have been the ultimate decision. The peculiar circumstances of this young lady's marriage and decease have been remarkable and must create unusual interest and sympathy. The deceased requested that Rev. G. M. Boyd preach the funeral sermon over her remains, but unfortunately the request could not be complied with.
