Maggie Brown

OBITUARY.

BROWN. -- Maggie, daughter of E. L. and M. J. Brown, departed this life on the morning of Oct. 26th, 1878, aged 13 months.

How short and hasty was her life! A child that was loved by every one that saw her. But why mourn? She has gone only to join the triumphant and honored host of the redeemed. The laurel wreath and crown are hers forever. With her to live has been Christ; and so to die is gain. The Lord loveth whom he chasteneth and in consolation of care-worn grief we can but say that there is one more bright star added to the shining throng that enjoy fidelity at the right hand of God in Glory.

When Maggie ceased to live, an angel came
And placed upon her head
A wreath of immortality --
Of Glorious love. 'Tis said,

He caught her gently in his arms,
When she had ceased to play,
And bore her to her Father's land,
Far from our hands away.
