Alice Brainard

Obituary.
Alice Brainard was born in Rockfert, Cuyadoga County, Ohio, May 25, 1819. She was married to Porter M. Brush, September 11, 1836. They moved to Vermillion Ohio. To them were born seven children. Her husband died in 1858, and four children are now gone before her. Her oldest son died in Camp Chase Hospital in 1865. She leaves three children, fourteen grand children and four great grand children. She was converted and joined the Methodist Episcopal church in 1850, having been a faithful member 43 years. Since 1866 she has made it her home with her children, living in Ohio, Iowa and Indiana. The last six years she has been at Chesterton with her daughter Mrs. Demass where she changed an earthly for a heavenly home, April 13th, 1893, aged 73 years, 10 months, 18 days.
