OBITUARIES.
MRS. MARY BEECH
Died on the 24th inst. at the residence of her husband eight miles north-east of Valparaiso, Mary, wife of Lyman Beech, in the 67th year of her age.

Mary Billings, the deceased, was born in Union county, this state, May 19th, 1816, where she lived until 1835 when she came with her parents to Porter county. She was married to Lyman Beech in 1842 with whom she lived on the home farm until her death. In her early years she united with the Methodist church of which she remained an honored member until her death. She was earnest christian, a highly respected citizen, a faithful and loving mother and a devoted wife. She leaves an aged husband, three chilodren of her own, and step-children who loved her as a mother, to mourn her. She had been a great sufferer but death came to her unexpected, but not unprepared. "She rests from her laborers and her works follow her."

The funeral services were conducted by Elder E. S. Riley at the old homestead on Sabbath, the 25th at 1:30 o'clock in the presence of a large company of relatives and neighbors, after which the remains were born to and deposited in the Luther burying ground.
