LATEST LOCAL NEWS.
Solomon Bhymer, an old and respected citizen of Valparaiso, Indiana, passed away in death on Monday morning at 4:20 o'clock, after 18 days of intense suffering. He died as he had lived, a true Christian, honored by all the many who knew him. He was born in Kentucky, near Lexington, July 31st, 1813, and with his widowed mother moved when quite young to near Cincinnati, Ohio. In 1830 he removed from there to Berrien county, Mich., where he became acquainted with Catharine Ribble, and was married to her in 1833. She survives him, and bears her bereavement with Christian fortitude with the hope of meeting him and an only daughter who passed away 14 years ago, in a brighter and better land, where parting will be no more.
