William Benedict

DECEASED.
WESTVILLE, IND. MAY 4, 1881.

EDITOR VIDETTE: -- William Benedict, who has been a resident of this place from his youth, died last week in Iowa with consumption, at the age of 44 years, 11 months and a few days.

Mr. Benedict lived on a farm near Westville for several years, but moved into town two or three years ago and went into the hardware business, which he followed until this spring when his health became so poor that he could not attend to his business. He sold his store and went with his family out west, hoping that his health might improve.

His remains were brought here, and on Sunday at 2 o'clock p. m. the funeral services were held in the Methodist church, of which Mr. Benedict has been a member since his early youth. The body was then taken to the Westville cemetery and there interred.

By Mr. Benedict's death Westville has lost one of its most devoted and highly esteemed citizens. He leaves a wife, a little daughter and agreat many friends to mourn his death.
