John W. Baum

DEATHS
Once more death has entered the home of Miller and Caroline Baum, of Jackson Center, taking their only remaining son, John W. Baum, who died Saturday, Feb. 6, 1892, of pneumonia.

The funeral services were conducted by Rev. A. M. Virden, in the Jackson Center church Sunday, and the remains interred by the side of several brothers and a sister in the Luther cemetery. The deceased was born at the old home in Jackson township, November 17, 1869, his age therefore was 22 years, 2 months and 19 days. He was the only child left at home with his parents, to whom he was fondly attached. His death came like a crushing blow to the fond parents and to the affectionate sisters, who dearly loved him.

John Baum was a manly man, affectionate, warm-hearted and friendly to all he came in contact with. He was loved and respected by his associates and to whom his early demise is a source of great regret.
