Simeon Adams, one of the oldest men in this part of the county, died on the morning of the 1st inst., being almost 86 years old. One day last week he went into the corn field and was gone longer than usual. Some of the family went to look after him, and found him lying on the ground, unable to help himself. He had lost the use of one-half of his body. Mr. Adams has been quite active for a man of his age. He had a large tumor growing on his shoulder for many years, and about 15 or twenty years ago he went to Laporte and had Dr. Meeker take it off. After it was cut off it filled a patent pail full.
