H. PAUL LA COUNT, D. D. S., was born in Porter County, Indiana, on April 29, 1899, the son of C. F. and Mollie (Pahl) LaCount, both of whom were natives of Jasper County, Indiana, and were married in 1889 in Porter County. To their marriage were born four children: Arthur, Leslie, Russell and H. Paul. Arthur is engaged in the real estate business in Valparaiso; Leslie is a farmer of Morgan Township; and Russell is a professional musician. C. F. LaCount and wife still reside in Valparaiso. He has been an active and influential factor in this county, having served from 1901-1905 as sheriff of Porter County.

Dr. H. Paul LaCount attended the high school of Kouts, Indiana, for three years, and graduated from Valparaiso High School. After leaving school he assisted his father on the farm for two years, and in 1919 entered Northwestern University, receiving his dental degree in 1923. He opened his office in Valparaiso, where he has met with professional success.

His marriage was with Florence, the daughter of Walter and Iva Atwell, on March 4, 1922. Mrs. LaCount attended Valparaiso University and taught school prior to her marriage. To their union was born a son, Delmar Paul, and a daughter, Virginia May. Doctor LaCount is a member of the American Dental Association, Indiana and Northwestern Dental Association, Chamber of Commerce, Masonic order, and the Valparaiso Country Club.
